About Sharing is Caring Neighborhood Block Garden
Our History
The Sharing is Caring Neighborhood Block Garden was established in Spring 2021. It is the brainchild of Norma Michael. The Lord said to me "Norma start a garden" and that's where it all started. There was a vacant lot across the street from my childhood home (where I currently reside) that had been empty for over 20 years. I purchased the lot from the State of Mississippi. The garden benefits all of the neighbors in my block who are mostly seniors. Planting, growing and harvesting vegetables ensures availability of fresh fruits and vegetables.
